Causes and Treatments Of Lower Back Pain

If you are experiencing low back stiffness, you are probably going to have issues in the area that lies below the ribs and above the legs. Since your back carries almost all of your body weight, it gets strained easily. While some folks experience a discomfort, there are others who deal with more acute lower back pain. Low back pain may be sudden or it may develop gradually over a period of cases, it could be accompanied with muscle seizures. It could also cause a tingling feeling and numbness in the legs.

The most usual causes of lower back pain are- spinal stenosis, osteoarthritis, spinal deformities and any injuries caused to the muscles or the ligaments. Aside from these reasons, there are several other causes that could lead to lower back pain. They are- aortic aneurysm, peptic ulcers, gall bladder disease and pancreatitis.

You can take a variety of medications to treat your back agony. They include medicines that reduce agony irritation and swelling, like ibuprofen and naproxen. These drugs are typically effective when taken constantly. You may use tricyclic and tetracyclic antidepressant medicines to treat chronic lower back pain. You can also take pain-killer or corticosteroid injections to block pain sensation or reduce inflammation.

Besides these medications, there are a few other cures as well that can help treat lower back pain. Spine adjustment is one such treatment. It can be performed by a chiropractor, osteopath or a physical therapy spine specialist.

Heat or cold therapy could also help lower the lower back pain. For heat care, you could use heat pads, warm packs or take shower with warm water. Heat helps the tissue stretch and therefore donates it more flexibility besides reducing the discomfort. To perform cold therapy, just wrap a piece of ice in a piece of cloth and apply on to the affected area. When you apply the cold pack, the nerve impulses slow down and thus you feel lesser pain.

The following best alternative way to treat back pain is to alleviate lumbar region agony. In this therapy, tiny needles are pierced at numerous points in your body. They are pierced at a very shallow depth and so it does not cause any agony. Some studies have proved acupuncture to be a better way to reduce agony compared to the diverse medicines and treatments.

There are many back pain exercises as well that can help treat the issue. Here are some of them.

Pelvic Lean
Lie on your back with knees bent. Tighten your intestinal muscles so the lower portion of your back touches the floor. Hold for 5 seconds and then relax. Repeat the process 5 times daily.

Back Stretch
Lie on your stomach. Press your palms against the floor to push the higher portion of your body above the floor. Wait for 5 seconds and then relax.Repeat the process ten times daily.

Knee To Chest
Keep your legs straight and lie down on your back. Move your one knee up to the chest while keeping the other one grounded to the floor. Stay in the position for 5 seconds and then relax. Repeat the same with the other leg and practice it five times everyday. Thus, you could fight lower back pain with the assistance of the above stated medicines or alternative treatment methods.
